Mohammad Mahdi A. Shirazi is a principal researcher in Membrane Industry Development Institute. He received his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Kashan. He is also the co-founder of the Green-MEMTECH startup. His current research interests focus on sustainable strategies in developing composite membranes for major applications, including seawater desalination, brine management, waste-to-wealth technologies, water treatment, and resource recovery from industrial wastewater. He is also keen on composite material development and nano-engineered membranes for advanced separation technologies. More than 40 international refereed journal papers have been published in highly reputed journals. More than 25 papers, including 5 invited talks, have been presented in international conferences by him. He is the co-author of 8 book chapters in the fields of membrane technology and energy. He is also an active reviewer for more than 17 highly ranked, international journals, and since 2013 he has been appointed as an outstanding reviewer in Elsevier publisher.
